The rationality of Canseco

From Yahoo! news this morning:

“…Obviously, when you make all that money, people think, `OK, let’s assume it is $35 million.’ People have to understand that $35 million, you’re paying the government 41 percent. That leaves you with about $17 or $18 million, not even. Then you’re taking care of your whole family.”

That’s rough. I mean, that’s some tough living you’re going to have to deal with. Hope irresponsibly walking away from your mortgage and taking advantage of an already faltering economy works out really nice for you.

…I mean, Jesus, I’m just so sorry to hear about that, dude. I hope it starts looking up for you really soon! Really, I mean, how is anybody supposed to care for their family on only “about $17 or $18 million, not even” ? I don’t know how anybody is even able to get by anymore; perhaps, with the grace of God, some fair and totally reasonable tax breaks will help us all along.

Of course, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t fascinated by all three of these characters; they’re definitely interesting people and I’d like the chance to talk to any of them. As with all judgments, I’m sure the story’s different from their point of view; I just don’t like how truly accepted cheating has become.
